Vision of Love...

Love should remain unspoken,
It's given and felt by the heart.
Expressed love in material form,
Will not follow when you depart.

Promises will be forgotten,
And passion will fade.
All the gifts you have bought,
Do not matter when you are dead.

Love transcends boundaries,
Beyond the physical realm.
If you truly love someone,
Their death won't overwhelm.

Love isn't possessive;
It's meant to be shared.
Fear is just a hindrance,
There's no need to be scared.

Love freely and boldly,
And expect nothing in return.
When faced with disapproval,
Respect your lover and learn.

Your goals are important,
And your lover should assist,
Not to dictate nor direct,
But provide you strength to persist.

Life, after all,
Is a chance for you to grow.
Love all that you can,
Before you reach six feet below.

Give Me Five...

A brand new year has come along,
Bringing with it the same old song.
A song of desperate hope and need,
To fill the lives that people lead.

Everyone wants better and want more,
Buying their desires from the shopping mall.
But I wonder why bother at all,
When all they need is a phone call.

A call to their loved ones to show they care,
For without them they would be nowhere.
People will mourn for you when you die,
But items will not even utter good-bye.

We buy items to improve our lives,
But people are why we stay alive.
Always remember this and you shall thrive,
And live strong and happy to give me five.
